"Miss Brandi selected 40 of the more than 120 NASA Earth As Art photographs for our color palettes. Each palette has six colors selected from the unique topographical images."
If you haven't checked out these photographs before, which I know I hadn't, I highly recommend taking a peek, they are incredible! Here is the palette I chose from the two Erin presented me with:
You can view it the photo also here: http://www.skyimagelab.com/ghadamis-river.html
Isn't the palette Brandi created gorgeous?? I fell in love. I stared at this palette for a very, very long time. I started pulling beads in the right colors from my stash and set them in a tray to stare at too lol. Finally I got to work and this is what I came up with:
I had big dreams of creating even MORE pretty pieces, but only got so far as making a pair of bangles:
Now, I wasn't sure exactly where the Ghadmis River was, so I decided to investigate a little. According to the pic itself it is in the Tinrhert Hamada Mountains near Ghadamis, Libya. The Tinrhert Hamada Mountains are between Libya and Algeria. Here are a couple of links that I found interesting about that general area :)

Thank you SO much to Erin and Brandi both for hosting, I had a wonderful time! I hope you have enjoyed my little corner, now on to the other amazing color palettes (and pictures!):

I have yet to see a color palette in this challenge that is not mind blowing - including yours! Love your bead selection! The bangles are AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteJennifer, these are so pretty... isn't it amazing how such prosaic geology has been transformed into colourful wearable art? All that was required were some billion-dollar satellite and a little inspiration LOL.
ReplyDeleteseriously, the palettes are amazing! love what you did with yours. beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWeren't the Challenge of Color palettes just beautiful? I was so happy with the ones I got. You made such pretty pieces with yours! You did a fantastic job on this challenge!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty, happy colors in your bangles!
ReplyDeleteHi there old friend/partner (from BSBP). You did a great job with your palette (and what a pretty palette!) Love the bangles.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful holiday season!
These bangles are so fun! They capture the spirit of your palette AND the hop so well. Thanks for playing along!
ReplyDeleteI love that palette .. all of the colors are so bold and fun! You certainly did justice to it. Your bracelets are just as colorful and fun as their inspiration.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Inspiring, too, because I'm just getting into metal work (on a very low level!) so I really liked your bangles. Both pieces match your pallet wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteI love your bracelets, little pops of fun colours. I hope you plan to make more.
ReplyDeleteGreat colors and the beads tell the story, fun bracelets.
ReplyDeleteI love the bangles!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors all together. Andrea
ReplyDeleteVery bright and colorful. I like your bangles. I have been admiring your work in magazines for quite a while now. I think that you are a wonderful designer.
ReplyDeleteLOVE JENN! Super job with your wire work - and of course I loved your play with the colors in your palette - FANTASTIC job :) JLynn
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteMe loving your colorful creations :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour collaboration - love it! Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ
ReplyDeleteThe bangles are so pretty. Love the color combo.
ReplyDeleteIt has been fun to be on this color full journey with you Miss Jennifer! I am so happy you played along. I love that you used all the colors in your palette. That is something I struggled with. And I love the direction you are going with that bangle set. I think that you could have a whole arm of them with each color in the palette! Enjoy the day. Erin
ReplyDeleteLove your bangles and would love to see more of them. Your color palette was sure fun to look at and I am sure you had a blast :)
ReplyDeleteOh, so pretty! I love your use of color.
ReplyDeleteFantastic interpretation of your color scheme. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey are totally charming! great work
ReplyDeleteThose bangles are awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat multicolored bracelet just makes me happy to look at it! I know you can wear your heart on your sleeve, but I just now thought of wearing happiness around your wrist!
ReplyDeleteIt's so great to see what everyone did with their palettes. Very pretty bracelets.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of all three pieces so very much. I'm especially smitten with the bangles; so simple, but so stunning!
ReplyDeleteSo Beautiful--just like everything you do and are!
ReplyDeleteI love these colorful bangles. They look so fun to wear, and would be perfect for any season, any time. Fantastic job!!!
